Types of writing along with a list of publications
For examples of my most recent writing please see my Journo Portfolio
Film Critic & Columnist
Since March 2012 I’ve written Mansfield & Ashfield Chad’s online film column. My film reviews are often among the local newspaper’s most viewed stories. Due to the column’s success my reviews have been rolled out across Johnston Press websites for neighbouring areas in the Midlands.
In Autumn 2014 my reviews moved to print only. Over the next few weeks I will be adding PDF versions of my latest 250 word reviews for Johnston Press to my Journo Portfolio page here.
Ripley & Heanor News
Eastwood & Kimberly Advertiser
Mansfield & Ashfield Observer
My reviews have also appeared online at The Redditch Advertiser
Between 2012 and 2013 I contributed film reviews to That’s China, a lifestyle magazine for English speaking residents in China.
Events Coverage & Film Features
I cover film related events for Gorilla Film Magazine, including Birmingham’s Flatpack Festival. I also review independent films for the magazine. You can find a complete list of my articles for the magazine on my author page here.
I have recently started writing for Audiences Everywhere, a new film website that covers film news, reviews and features. You can find a list of my articles on my author page here.
Fashion Columnist & Features Writer
Between 2012 and 2014 I wrote a women’s fashion column and a men’s style column in Mansfield’s monthly High Life Magazine.
Blog Writer & Editor
I run my own film blog (previously hosted on this site), Writer Loves Movies. The blog was Freshly Pressed by WordPress in June 2012, just 3 months after launch. As a result, it featured on WordPress’ daily summary of best blogs.
My film features have also appeared on a number of other blogs including Head In A Vice. My content has been featured in the digital magazine The Daily Lamb – the daily summary from the premier movie blog directory (1,400+ member blogs). I have also produced original features for The Lamb’s main website.
